A Camping We Will Go

I had mentioned a little while ago that Mark and I were going camping for a weekend. It ended up being such a beautiful weekend. We went to Burlingame State Campground in Charlestown RI. We were there Friday-Monday, and had a blast.
Friday night we got there just as it was about to get dark so we rushed to get set up, and then made some dinner and a camp fire.
On Saturday we got up and made breakfast, and then we went out bike riding. I showed him around the campground since this was his first time there. When we got back we went to the beach and took a swim together, the campground is on Watchaug Pond. The water was quite cold, but we still has fun. We enjoyed playing card games together between "go fish" "old maid" "war" and "spit". Right around late afternoon we took a drive into Watch Hill (Westerly, RI) which was about 15 minutes away. Once in town we stopped at the little ice cream shop and got ice cream, and then we walked out to the Watch Hill Lighthouse (i had posted about that here).
When we got back we made some dinner and set up the fire for later. The campground was showing the movie RV at the athletic field at dusk. We went and watched part of that, we didnt stay the whole time since it was very buggy out. We went back and made our fire, and these really yummy desserts. They were bananas stuffed with chocolate bars, recesses, and marshmallows and then wrapped them up in tin foil and put them in the coals in the fire.
You need to make sure you leave the peel on them so they dont burn, they just get warm and gooey. They turned out so good.
On Sunday when we got up we made breakfast again, and then went right to the beach. We were there for a little while but then headed back to play cards. We were playing cards when mom came to visit. We made some lunch then headed out for a bike ride together. When we got back from the ride we all went to the beach together to get some sun. Later on, around dinner before mom left we went into town to go to orange leaf. For those of you who do not know what it is: a frozen yogurt place that have all different flavors, and you can mix them and do it yourself. Then they have all the fruit toppings and candy toppings. Its amazing.
We had our fire, and then later on, after mom left, mark and i made dinner.
Monday morning we had to pack up, and it was very sad since we both had an amazing time, but i also enjoyed the trip so much. So until next time...Happy Camping :)
