Sticking to Plan: Weekend Away
It feels like any time I am invited to a picnic, party or weekend away, my mind immediately goes to "how will i be able to stay on track?"
Well here is the easy response, unless I plan ahead, i won't. So i will spend as long as i need to plan ahead and make sure i am fully prepared for the weekend.
This coming weekend i have a bachelorette party to attend. We all know the weekend-loads of food and booze. The perfect combination for a weekend of no tracking. But i am so close to being the lowest I've been in a while. Plus right after the weekend i will go away on vacation and i don't want to be feeling gross after a weekend of partying.
So where did i start? Well i contacted the MOH who was planning the weekend. I politely told her how i am trying to stick to a plan, and as soon as she had more information regarding food for the weekend to please let me know. She wrote back that it was no problem! Yay.
Earlier this week us girls got a text outlining the weekend. There she mentioned:
Friday night will be pizza delivered to the hotel
Saturday breakfast is from the hotel
Saturday Lunch we will go out
Saturday Dinner is antipasto salad, pulled pork and pulled buffalo ranch chicken sandwich
Snacks will be chips, dip, pretzels, hummus, and chips and salsa
oh, and BYOB
She did mention if people wanted to bring their own food, they can. The room has a fridge and a microwave.
The next thing i needed to find out was did we know where we were going yet for Lunch on Saturday. She said no. When i don't know where i am going, i usually just get a grilled chicken caesar salad for 9 points. Its my go-to.
Then i called the hotel and asked what they served for breakfast. They listed everything.
Next I created my plan. Here is what i came up with for the weekend. Yes ill be bringing my own food, because i have goals, and i want to stick to them!
Friday dinner: Large Caesar Salad (17)
Friday Snacks: popcorn (3) and Protein bar (5)
Saturday Breakfast: Yogurt (2) and egg (2)
Saturday lunch: caesar salad (9)
Saturday Dinner: turkey ginder! (14) light salad (1)
Saturday Snacks: popcorn (3)
Sunday breakfast: yogurt (2) and egg (2)
Sunday Lunch: protein bar (7)
For the whole weekend i will be drinking water, and lots of it. I also already packed: carrots, grapes, kiwi and strawberries. All of which are 0 point snacks, so if i am hungry i can grab those.
So that is my plan for a weekend away. Once i get home from that weekend i will have a day to plan my vacation (plus ill have the flight) to best figure out how i can stay on track!
