Wedding Venues

Today Mark, Mom, Dad and I went and took a tour of two wedding venues in the area.

The first one that we toured was the Mystic Marriott. It was beautiful. One thing that i love about there is that everything is right there. The guests wouldnt have to travel to the hotel, all they would do after the reception is go to the elevator. I also enjoy that there is an atendent from the hotel who is in charge of making your wedding go as smoothly as possible. Mark and I have reviewed the different menu options, and there is one that we like and think would be a good choice. Here are a few pictures of the ball room, and the hallway "cocktail hour" that they will set up for the guests. Plus the ballroom has its own seperate entrance.
This is the ballroom where the reception would be held. I am not sure how i feel about the bright red carpet. Amanda (woman giving us the tour) says that onc you get all the decorations in, you really dont notice it.
The lighting fixtures in the ballroom.
This is the seperate entrance from the outside to get to the ballroom.
This is the little hallway area outsdie of the ballroom where the cocktail hour would be held.

The great neck country club. Well first things first...our date is already booked. Every other saturday is available in the month of september except for my date. I guess that means its a popular date??? But below is a picture of the space actually set up for a wedding. It is very nice, but Mark says that it feels small.

Tonight when i got home i looked up many other options. I have about 14 other venues that i would like to call and get some information on.

Did i also mention we came up with a theme last night??? Vintage. Mark likes the fairy tale, so if we can find a way to blend those two then i will.

Tomorrow my goal is to call around to a few more venues and hopefully print off a few pictures of vintage inspiration.

So far at the end of my day, the Marriott is my top choice.
