Tis The Season: Robyn Carr

I recently started a book called: 'Tis The Season by Robyn Carr. I didn't realize when i picked it out, but it is actually 3 short stories, that kind of intertwine with each other. So i will break it down by each story.

Under The Christmas Tree
This is a story about a girl named Annie who is on her way home to her family for Christmas time. She decides to stop in at the little bar in Virgin River owned by Jack and his family. While she is there they are setting up the giant christmas tree. She hears the sound of puppies, and finds a box of puppies under the christmas tree that were abandoned. Growing up on a farm, Annie knows she can help save these puppies and get them to the age of adoption. She convinces Jack to keep the puppies in his bar until they become a little older. They call in the old vet who is well known to the town when a young man walks in and catches Annie's attention. Nathan is the new vet since his father gave him the practice. The story is between Annie and Nathan, and the love they have for the puppies, and then each other. At the end of the story, Nathan is going off on a trip that was pre planned with his friends, however he gets to the trip only long enough to realize how much he misses her, and flies home to be with her.

Midnight Confessions
The story starts off with Sunny, the niece of Nathan from the first story, who is visiting her uncle and his fiancé Annie in Virgin River. The entire short story takes place over New Years Eve. Sunny was left at the alter one year ago that day, she was broken and miserable. Annie convinces Sunny to go out to Jack's local bar for a New Years Eve party. Sunny is very reluctant but goes. Not long after she gets there someone named Drew who is using his sister cottage for some R&R away from medical school. Drew who was also in a recent breakup, tried to approach Sunny, who turns him right down. After several attempts Sunny starts to talk to Drew. After a while Sunny decides to take a drive with Drew to check out his cabin. On the way there they hit a deer, and had to walk the rest of the 2 MI to the cabin. They spent a few hours just talking and getting to know each other. When her uncle Nathan came to get her that later, Sunny wasn't sure if she wanted to see Drew again. Sunny is unable to sleep that night, and when she is up around 5:30 AM, Annie hands over her keys and tells Sunny to go get him!

Backward Glance
This story really doesn't take place around the holidays at all, nor does it connect with either of the first two stories. I feel like this one was just placed at the end of the book because on more was needed. It was still a good story though. It starts of with a handy man, Mr. Fix-It named John. He is called over to the home of Jess, who has a job for him. Jess is an elder woman, and John happened to have dated her daughter about 5 summers ago when she was going through a legal separation. They had a summer of passion and romance, and then a cold split at the end. John was never really over Leigh, however with emails, calls, and letters un returned, he assumed Leigh was over him. Jess informs John that her daughter is coming home with her twin boys, age 4. Jess showed John a picture, and one of the twins looked just like him, and the timeline matches, that he could be the father. Leigh comes home and Jess informs her that she wants to have the whole backyard re-done, and will need John to be around all summer. John and Leigh need to work together again. At first they fight, and then it turns into more. Ill leave the middle out, but by the end of the book, it is confirmed that those are their sons, and they have to make a decision about their future. Marriage perhaps????
