Reno, NV
Back in May 2016, Mark and I went out to Reno, NV for the national bowling tournament. About 12 other guys went as well, and i was the only female. But it worked out since the guys would golf during the day, and Mark and I would go and explore. Reno was a wonderful trip, we got to see so much. Plus it was a great time. Below are a lot of pictures from our trip. While we were there however, it was very cold.
One of the roads up in the mountain overlooking Lake Tahoe
We passed Squaw Valley, where the 1960's winter olympics were held
Natural waterfalls in the mountains
We stopped at one of the beaches in South Lake Tahoe. I was going to grab sand from here like i do at other locations, however the sand wasn't very good
Something i didn't realize was that most of Lake Tahoe is actually in California!
Mark bowling in a side tournament at the nationals
During one of the days, we took a walk down the Reno strip, "the biggest little city in the world"
While we were walking down the strip we realized there was a car show going on. Love this VW
Our hate: grand sierra
In the mountains there was a place to pull off to look out over Lake Tahoe. Someone had stopped and offered to take our picture. When leaving the couple said to us: "Y'all have a good day now!"
The pool at the resort. Since i mentioned above that it was cold during most of our trip we only got one day in at the pool. However we did go into the hot tub another time, and it started to sleet!
Mark walking in for the bowling tournament
One of the days we were out exploring we went far up into the mountains and went to a town called Virginia City, an old mining town. It was very cool.
We enjoyed dinner at the Red Dog Saloon
While in Virginia City we went on an old mining tour and went into the old mine. That was really cool as well.
View of the street
We had old fashion photos done, and had them printed and one of them framed. This was one of our favorites.
We stopped to have lunch and my goodness was it amazing! As was the view.
Inside the Grand Sierra Resort, Reno, NV
Our rental car which was called: The Hedgehog.
This was the first time we saw Lake Tahoe, the northern part. Some older gentleman offered to take our picture.
This is one of our favorite trips. It is just something so different than we usually do, since we typically do beach type of vacations. I am really looking forward to our next bowling vacation, and hoping to see more of the US.
