Someone Like You

I finally finished a book i had started almost a year ago. It was a book that i would bring it everywhere with me "just incase" i had time to read, but i never read it. So overtime i would pick it up again i was having trouble getting back into it. So i brought it camping with me, and made my self sit and read it. Then i had to finish it!

Someone Like You by Sarah Dessen

Halley is off at a summer camp that her mom made her go to before starting her Junior year. While away at camp Halley receives a call from her best friend Scarlett with awful news. The first boy that Scarlett loved has been in a terrible accident and passed away. 
The two friends start their junior year and try to move on with their lives. Halley meets a new boy who is all too adventurous for her. Meanwhile Scarlett finds out that she is pregnant with her ex boyfriends child. Scarlette's mom has already made the decision that she will "take care" of the child. Scarlett decides on her own that she will keep the child. 
The rest of the story is the relationship between Halley and her new "bad boy" boyfriend, and Scarlett as her baby grows. I don't want to give away the ending, however it is a very cute story, and is not all about a love story like i typically read! I plan to read another Sarah Dessen book again next. We will see how much time i have with wedding planning!

Every year people make all kinds of resolutions... and typically people drop them by the second week in january, or if they are lucky, they can hold on until february. I had seen online the other day someones resolution was for people to start loving who they were and to accept themselves and to stop trying to always change.  NOW, i love that resolution and i hope people are able to accept who they are, except in my case i am not healthy, and not only do i want to become healthy, but i am stretching for a much larger goal, and i hope that i can accomplish it! Safe Haven

 **SPOILER ALERT** I typically do not like to read the books that get turned into movies because i will usually end up hating the book or the movie. However, when i was up at bowling i got talking to one of the other girlfriends who hang out up there and we got talking about Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks. She suggested to read it, and she even gave me her copy of the book.  Ive had it for a few months now, and still didnt read it. I started about a month ago, and for the first few chapters, the book followed the movie, so i could almost see the movie playing in my head as i read. So i put the book down for a while. Just this past week i picked it back up again, and i finished it within days. The story is different.  In the movie Alex finds out about Katie's past because of the "wanted" poster up with her picture, however it really plays more into him finding out and its more a gradual thing in the book. Falltime Bucket List Update #5

Visit a Corn Maze  On 10/23/14 Mark and I went to a corn maze before Michael's football game. It was shaped like a vikings hat, and it was actually really fun. I had been to one when i was little and i had always wanted to go back to one. I was finally glad that i found one that was affordable! Last year all the corn mazes i had found cost about $30 or more. This one was $7! Perfect and i can not wait to go again next year.  Visit a Fall Festival  On 10/25/14 the town of Essex, CT held their annual pumpkin festival. I had been many years prior when i was babysitting someone, and i loved it! This year i made sure to look up the date, and when Mark got out of work we drive 30 minutes. The festival was fun! They had all the pumpkins that were carved and lit up. They had a band playing music and food and hot chocolate.
