Rocky's Aqua

Image
One of the restaurants that I looked into is called: Rocky's Aqua and it is located right on the water in Clinton, CT. We have been here once before, when my grammy came up from Ohio to visit and Mark met her for the first time. We all enjoyed it when we were there. So Mark and I went down to check it all out. They told us that with a party our size, we would have the entire porch to ourselves. They told us that included in the buffet is: baked scrod, chicken marsala, flank steak, penne ala vodka, mashed potatoes, green beens, salad, coffee and tea. They do not include dessert so we would be able to bring in our own cake if that is what we chose. It was the perfect location. Here are some pictures of the restaurant. The sides can go up and down pending on the weather.  A picture looking at

Wedding Paper Divas

A little post on wedding stationary.  This site was recommended to me by a fellow bride, and it was one that kept coming up on line. So i decided to check it out. They have some really pretty designs. They also break down their designs into themes. So there was a category named vintage.  I also saw that ending on 9/29 you could get 8 free samples. So last night i picked out 8 designs that i really like. Then at check out i typed in the code FREETRY and i got them all for free! They will be arriving sometime between Oct 5-9. Which is really exciting because that is right before my weekend with the bridesmaids.  I also saw that i could order the starter kit for free. It gave me everything to start picking out ones that i like.  I was writing it all down the other day. Here are all the different types of stationary needed in the wedding: Save the date & envelope Invitation & envelope Response cards & envelope Enclosure cards Menu Place cards Table

One Year Mark-Wedding Countdown

The other day i had the sudden realization of: "oh my goodness, i now have exactly one year until my wedding." For a second my mind was all excited and happy that i will be getting to marry Mark in a year. Then i realized that also means that i have even less time to get everything done, and now its really time to figure out details. Time to buckle down! That night Mark had gone out to dinner with a group from work, so i decided that it was my time to stay home and research. I made a list, and started sending out email after email. I started with the rehearsal dinner. Locations, and hotel information. I found a few different restaurants and hotels, and then i emailed. Next i grabbed the booklet we received from our venue The Woodwinds  and emailed their preferred florist. I figured we could start looking at ideas and flowers as well as pricing. Then i researched websites for invitations/save the dates and all other stationary goods. Earlier in the week i had ordered myse

Two Year Anniversary

Image
September 10th Mark and I celebrated two years together. We both worked, and unfortunately, that day we got a huge rain storm, so as Mark was at work getting something for me, the basement was flooding. So that was not so fun. When Mark came in through the doors that night, he came in with two dozen roses, and a strawberry cake. Then that night we went out for dinner. We tried out a dinner that is in Groton CT called Norms. Dinner was delicious! It was nice spending time together. In just over a year we will be getting married! I cant believe it! Here is my yummy strawberry cake that Mark had the bakery write "Happy Anniversary Babe"  My beautiful two dozen pink roses I cant wait to spend more time with my love and get to know him more. Now we are working on planning our wedding! I cant wait until we say "I do"

The Other Boy

Image
I finished another book called The Other Boy written by Hailey Abbott. This is a story about Maddy who lives in LA. Her parents are leaving for the entire summer and going up to their vineyard in Napa Valley. The first night that they are gone, Maddy throws a huge party to start off the summer. Included in the guest list are her best friend and her boyfriend, Brian. However the night of the party her parents realized they forgot important papers at the house, and turned around. They walked into the party at their house. Her parents punishment is taking Maddy up to Napa Valley and away from LA life for the entire summer. She is living in an old farm house with only one bathroom in the entire house. She is assigned a project with the boy next door. They are restoring an old barn and turning it into a wine tasting room. At first Maddy uses every excuse to get away from the project and David. But as time goes on Maddy loosens up. She starts to enjoy her time in Napa Valley. Later in the

Bridal Salon

As i had mentioned before we found a weekend where my bridesmaids and i could all get together in the same weekend. So we agreed to try and find bridesmaid dresses. I started to look up bridal salons and schedule appointments. Its very hard to find one that has good reviews, and that the prices are not terrible. I spoke with Marks sister Cassandra and she says she got her bridesmaids dresses at Davids Bridal. I called David's and scheduled an appointment. Then i had one of my bridesmaids look up the other salons between Danvers MA and Andover MA. Today i called down the list and found out prices. Then i looked up the dresses they showed on line, and i really liked one called Alfred Angelo Bridal. So then i called and made an appointment. I then went on line and saved a bunch of the dresses to my favorite so that i can bring them to the appointment. I have started working on the craft projects that i have planned for the girls, and i am so excited! They are turning out so cute an
