Meet The Bridesmaids Part Two

I have my two final bridesmaids! Cassandra Cassandra is Marks one and only sister. She is two years older than him (just like me and my brother). I remember the first time i met his sister was at his grandparents anniversary party. I was super nervous because i really wanted her to like me. We have hung out several times since then. I had mailed her little card asking to be my bridesmaid and i was super excited when she called me to tell me she would love to! Janette Janette is Marks cousin who is actually the same age as me. I was always told the story that Mark used to call her baby Janette, and i kindly remind him that we are the same age. But due to us being close in age, we have always got along very well, and when i get to see her i really enjoy being around her. I had to mail her card as well, and then she called me to tell me she would love to be my bridesmaid. She started asking about colors, and themes, and any other plans we had. Cant wait! Here is my first post whe

Wedding Planning: Photography

There were two different companies that we looked at when picking out a photographer. One company was cheaper than the other by about $2,000, but yet we actually got more things with the cheaper company. So i am happy to announce, that the company we are going with for photography is: Lights Camera DJ. Our photographer's name is Amanda, and Mark and I got to meet her the other day. We sat down and talked about ideas that we had, and how we pictured things. Right now we are in the process of trying to schedule our Save-The-Date and engagement photo shoot, which i am SO excited about! I am not telling many people about what we are doing since it will be way cooler when they are surprised. We talked with Amanda about how the day of the wedding will go, and things that we would like to have done. It got me very excited about what is to come in the near future! A little bit about the engagement shoot, everything will be 1940's themed. So red lipstick, pin up curls, red dress. Mar

Swimming Lessons

I have finished the third book in The Beach House trilogy. This book: Swimming Lessons, by Mary Alice Monroe, takes place about 5 years after the first book ends.  We jump back into the lives of Cara, who is now married to Brett, and they are trying desperately for a child of their own, despite Cara's age.  Cara's friend returns to the beach after going through a divorce, while realizing she has to sell her beach house. When she finds out the buyer is her Ex-Husband.  A mother figure for all the ladies realizes she can no longer afford to live in her beach house, and it forces her to have to sell, but not before coming up with a way to still be around for all the turtle ladies.  This story really follows Toy and her daughter, Little Lovie, named after Olivia from the first two books.  Toy is working at an aquarium, and decides to open up her own turtle hospital. Then of course she meets a guy who also works at the aquarium and start to develop a relationship. But jus

Nursing: a very rewarding career. One where you learn to save lives, all while trying not to take your own.  I'm kidding with the last part. But seriously! Talk about stressful. For the most part I love my coworkers and my patients, it's all the extra stuff that's crazy!  It's already 1:00pm on a Saturday and I have been charting since 830. I am almost caught up but not yet!  I would like a sweatshirt like this. For those of you who can't read it, it says: 8 ounces of alcohol by mouth as needed for stress :)

8 Weeks Strong: Transform Myself

Image
This past wednesday was the 8 week mark since starting this fitness journey. This is the longest i have made it since the summer of 2011! I have been eating healthier and making smarter choices. I have been working out 5-6 days a week, with taking walks at night after dinner, and just being more active in general. I monitor my weight first thing every morning, and then i measure every other wednesday. I am posting the pictures from my progress below. Ill let those speak for themselves. 2 week mark, 10 pounds lost 4 week mark, 17 pounds lost  6 week mark, 23 pounds lost  8 week mark, 25 pounds lost I am so excited to keep going. The past few weeks have been difficult since i have been in a plateau, where i keep going up and down these same 2-3 pounds. I am hoping to keep going, and move past it. I told myself that i would not look at wedding dresses or take my save-the-date photos until ive lost 40-50 pounds total. So i am getting there!

Mary Kate and Ashley Magazine

Image
I had posted before about my obsession with Mary Kate and Ashley, and how i was trying to find their magazine. Back in 2001 the twins came out with their own magazine, called "Real Talk for Real Girls" and it only lasted for 3 issues. I have been trying to find these issues. I found the first and second one pretty quickly, but not the third (and final) one. Well the other night, i happened to go onto Ebay to check and see if i could find it. I was in luck! It was there. So i purchased the last magazine to add to the collection. Below is a picture of it...so excited to read it.  Here is a link to my post about: The Premier Issue

Happy Independence Day

Happy 4th of July! I hope everyone enjoyed their weekends. Mine was interesting for sure. Saturday morning mom and i went to goodwill, because on the holidays everything in the store is half off. So i got a bunch of books, and a good suit case. Then we went home in take for the parade down at Black Point (the beach community my parents live in). The parade was a good time. Here is a picture of Mark, Michael and I at the parade. After the parade was over we went up to the club house where they had a big picnic with tons of food. I met our neighbors who had an adorable little girl named Piper. After the picnic at the club house, we went to a picnic at our friends about 20 minutes away. Mark and dad ended up staying there for the fireworks, when mom and i went home to be with my two brothers for the fireworks at Black Point. I was upset that Mark and I were not together for the fireworks, but in the end, it all worked out and Black Point put on a beautiful show. Until next time...
