Tonight I am meeting a friend from work for happy hour at a restaurant also in Groton, CT called Olio. Prices are a bit expensive but if you come between 4-6 for happy hour they are not bad. Here is the menu...
Back in July we found out we were expecting our first child! I was in total shock since we had just moved in and just started trying, but i guess now is when God had planned for us. I shared the news with Mark the next day at dinner. I had wrapped up a Patriots onsie (seen below) in a tiny little box. The only thing he could see at first was the Patriots symbol. Then he pulled out the onsie. He was like "what is this?" "this won't fit me." He was just as shocked as i was, but then excitement set in. August 15th we had our first ultra sound apt. We got to see the little bean bouncing around and saw the heart beat. It was too early to hear it. Mom and Mark were both at the apt with me. Next apt was August 29th, i went by myself. I was 11 weeks, and we were trying to hear the heart beat with the doppler but it was too early, so we did the ultra sound just to make sure all was well. Same thing, the baby was bouncing around. Yesterday Mom, Mark an...
Visit a Corn Maze On 10/23/14 Mark and I went to a corn maze before Michael's football game. It was shaped like a vikings hat, and it was actually really fun. I had been to one when i was little and i had always wanted to go back to one. I was finally glad that i found one that was affordable! Last year all the corn mazes i had found cost about $30 or more. This one was $7! Perfect and i can not wait to go again next year. Visit a Fall Festival On 10/25/14 the town of Essex, CT held their annual pumpkin festival. I had been many years prior when i was babysitting someone, and i loved it! This year i made sure to look up the date, and when Mark got out of work we drive 30 minutes. The festival was fun! They had all the pumpkins that were carved and lit up. They had a band playing music and food and hot chocolate. It was a nice little festival to walk around together with my boy. Carve Pumpkins As you know we had bought pumpk...
Let me start off by saying i love my weekends during the summer. Mostly, i am off from work, i get to see my family, and of course, i get to see Mark :) This past weekend i had a great day. Saturday my dad had his company work picnic at Lake Compounce. Which is CT's little amusment park. Included in our tickets were admission to the park, along with a full lunch buffett and dinner buffett. By the time my family got it all together and got to the park, we were all hungry and lunch was open. So the first thing we did was eat. Lunch was good, between burgers, mac and cheese, taco bar, potato salad, kielbasa, the list goes on! Then after we hit up the water park for a little while. After we were going on different rides such as the roller coasters, bumper cars, and everything else in between. It ended up being a really great night. Mom, dad, ryan and michael left early, and Mark and I stayed for another half hour or so. It was a great night with my family and with Mark :) On Sunday we ...
