Health & Fitness

Lately I have been doing something different with my workout routine and nutrition. Regarding nutrition I have been doing much better regarding snacking, and sticking to meals and two snacks. The extra snacking was really hurting me, so its better now that it is more under control. Fitness: I have all the workouts from my trainer, and I have them all written out on separate pieces of paper and labeled with a number. Now the workouts are all about 30 minutes since that is what my training session is. I have been starting off by getting on the treadmill for about 30 minutes, and walking on an incline. Sometimes ill walk faster, or increase the incline, or even run. Then I pick a routine from my trainer and do that the second 30 minutes. By the end I am so sweaty and gross, but that means it was a good workout. Mark and I used to go for walks, but lately it has been so hot and humid we haven’t. But I started that routine about 7 days ago, and since then I have lost...

Bridesmaids Weekend

I had said for a while now that I wanted to get all the bridesmaids together for a weekend. When I was talking to Marks sister she suggested we look for dresses since we will all be together. We actually managed to all find a weekend that works. At first my MOH was not sure if she would be able to make it, but now she is, and I cannot be more excited! So Columbus weekend, Oct 10-11 we will all be getting together. First I was trying to find a hotel that would hold all of us. Somewhere that had a suit, pool, and hot tub. Everywhere I called was completely booked! I mean, yes it is a holiday weekend and yes I was looking on the outskirts of Boston, but really? So then I found the courtyard in Andover, MA that had a suit available where it has 2 queen beds, and a separate living room with a pull out sofa. They have an indoor pool and hot tub. So I was so excited. I immediately put a hold on the room. Then it was time to find bridal salons that were in the area s...

Cape Cod Camp Resort

Image
Mark, Mom and I went to the cape from a Thursday to Monday for a long weekend. We ended up staying at a campground called: Cape Cod Camp Resort. From looking at it online, there were tons of things to do. They had 3 pools, a pond, paddle boats, movie night and the prices were not bad. When we first got there and were assigned the camp site, we pulled up to it, and it was a giant hill. There was nowhere to put the tent or table or anything else for that matter. The one next to it was empty, so we called and we were able to switch. The bathrooms: well when we first got there they were very clean and we were impressed. By the end of our stay, there was mud covering the floors! At least I hope it was just mud :/ The pools: So there was a kid area and a 21+ area. The kid area had a large pool with a water slide, and a little kiddie pool plus a splash pad. The pool was slightly cooler, but it was nice. Mark went down the slide once. The adult pool had a very warm (im talking ...

Back on Track

I had done very well with my health and fitness. I had lost 32 pounds in just about 2 months. Then i went away camping for 5 days, and when i came back i was only slightly higher than when i had left. But since being back it was extremely hard for me to get back on track. I went up to about 28 pounds lost. I have maintained these past two weeks, but have not made any more progress. Tomorrow i am getting back with my trainer, so i am hoping that will help me get back on track. On Monday 8/3 i found out i was approved for my vacation in November. Mark and I will be going on a cruise to the bahamas. I am so excited, but of course i want to look good in both my formal evening wear, in the bathing suit and in all pictures. The other thing i have as a goal is that Mark and I are taking our engagement and save-the-date photos. So i ordered a dress the other day off amazon, and it came in the mail today. Now it is slightly too big, and with my pics not being taken for another 2 months, i k...

Meet The Bridesmaids Part Two

I have my two final bridesmaids! Cassandra Cassandra is Marks one and only sister. She is two years older than him (just like me and my brother). I remember the first time i met his sister was at his grandparents anniversary party. I was super nervous because i really wanted her to like me. We have hung out several times since then. I had mailed her little card asking to be my bridesmaid and i was super excited when she called me to tell me she would love to! Janette Janette is Marks cousin who is actually the same age as me. I was always told the story that Mark used to call her baby Janette, and i kindly remind him that we are the same age. But due to us being close in age, we have always got along very well, and when i get to see her i really enjoy being around her. I had to mail her card as well, and then she called me to tell me she would love to be my bridesmaid. She started asking about colors, and themes, and any other plans we had. Cant wait! Here is my first post whe...

Wedding Planning: Photography

There were two different companies that we looked at when picking out a photographer. One company was cheaper than the other by about $2,000, but yet we actually got more things with the cheaper company. So i am happy to announce, that the company we are going with for photography is: Lights Camera DJ. Our photographer's name is Amanda, and Mark and I got to meet her the other day. We sat down and talked about ideas that we had, and how we pictured things. Right now we are in the process of trying to schedule our Save-The-Date and engagement photo shoot, which i am SO excited about! I am not telling many people about what we are doing since it will be way cooler when they are surprised. We talked with Amanda about how the day of the wedding will go, and things that we would like to have done. It got me very excited about what is to come in the near future! A little bit about the engagement shoot, everything will be 1940's themed. So red lipstick, pin up curls, red dress. Mar...

Swimming Lessons

Image
I have finished the third book in The Beach House trilogy. This book: Swimming Lessons, by Mary Alice Monroe, takes place about 5 years after the first book ends.  We jump back into the lives of Cara, who is now married to Brett, and they are trying desperately for a child of their own, despite Cara's age.  Cara's friend returns to the beach after going through a divorce, while realizing she has to sell her beach house. When she finds out the buyer is her Ex-Husband.  A mother figure for all the ladies realizes she can no longer afford to live in her beach house, and it forces her to have to sell, but not before coming up with a way to still be around for all the turtle ladies.  This story really follows Toy and her daughter, Little Lovie, named after Olivia from the first two books.  Toy is working at an aquarium, and decides to open up her own turtle hospital. Then of course she meets a guy who also works at the aquarium and start to develop a relat...
